A language family is a set of languages deriving from a common ancestor or parent. Subdivisions of a language family are called branches. Ultimately, the family will be responsible for shaping a child and developing their values, skills, socialization, and security.
We generally understand values to mean an understanding between what is right and what is wrong. The importance of language is beneficial regardless if you do it for fun or for your career or even just for personal travel. They expect the indigenous people to accommodate them and know their language.
Developing language skills is of absolute importance for young children’s success later in life both as social beings and in pursuing an education. Since language is our main form of communication, it is the most common way that we share ideas, concepts, values and how we see the world. In the developmental trajectory of a chil language plays an important role since it is connected with various aspects of a child’s growth. Learning a language is directly related to emotional development. For instance, a baby gazing at his parent’s face is responded by cooing and few words of love by his parents.
But language is much more than just a means of communication. Language is an important part of our lives. It is also an inseparable part of our culture.
It raised man from a savage state to the plane which he was capable of reaching. Man could not become man except by language. An essential point in which man differs from animals is that man alone is the sole possessor of language.
In the following, each bullet item is a known or suspected language family. Phyla with historically wide geographical distributions but comparatively few current-day speakers include Eskimo–Aleut, Na-DenĂ©, Algic, Quechuan and Nilo-Saharan. Russian is one of the five official languages of the United Nations.
The south Slavic languages include Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovene and Macedonian. The other west Slavic languages include Polish, Czech and Slavic. Most languages in the world belong to a specific family. Children who go to school with a solid foundation of their mother tongue develop literacy abilities in the language of instruction at school. In language pronunciation does not follow the written form but the written form in fact follows pronunciation.
Another important feature of language is that it is evolutionary and never static. Change is the golden rule in pronunciation, grammar, and usage of words, in any language. Words, gestures and tone are utilized in union to portray a broad spectrum of emotion.
It is the only language which is being taught second language and as an official language in almost countries. Languages that have no demonstrable relation with others, and cannot be classified within a specific family , are generally known as language isolates. Parents and caregivers help preschool children build a foundation for all future learning by supporting their language development during these early years. School readiness and school success for children who are dual language learners are tied directly to mastery of their home language. Language is one of the most important forms of material culture, without language there is no concept of culture. Different cultures have different speaking of language. Even when the language is same between the two cultures but still there will be difference in speaking and one will easily difference between them. Mother tongue is the language that a person grows up speaking from childhood. It’s also known as the first language or native language.
Being fluent in his mother tongue benefits an individual in many ways. A lot of research has suggested that mother tongue education is an important step in language learning. Before I end this speech, I would like you to reflect on this quotation: Family is not an important thing, they are everything. A Language shapes the way people perceive the world and it also helps to define culture of any society. Any language is a gift the knowledge of more than one language makes a man more efficient and skilful in many ways.
It opens our minds and guides us into a magical world of fancies and dreams.
